Project capybara

BRIEF:

Create a pond and waterfall for a group of Capybaras to live, making the whole enclosure an “Instagram Worthy” photo opportunity.

METHOD:

• FOUNDATION. Using waterproof concrete, steel reinforcement, poly fibres, then wet curing for 7 days, we create a solid foundation that will stand the test of time.

• BULK OUT: This is where we create our rock shapes using steel, concrete and leftover tyres on site to build our shapes.

• SCULPTING: Carving out the details that bring these rocks to life.

• PAINTING: The final touch, we use a custom cement based paint we create on site to add layers of colour that not only hold for longer, when they inevitably chip they simply reveal another colour. This maintains an organic look for years to come.

TIMELINE: This project took 7 days, not including the 7 days to cure the initial concrete pour.
